Dr Scott E. Monk was a brilliant Trauma and Critical Care Surgeon who began his career at Cooper Hospital and later became the Medical Director at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. Scott’s great passion besides his family, friends, and exceptional patient care, was education.
 
With this in mind, several years ago our family established the Scott E. Monk, DO Scholarship Fund to help offset the skyrocketing costs of a medical education. Since 2009, we have awarded over $250,000 to more than 50 outstanding individuals who, with our assistance, were able to complete their education more quickly and graduate with less debt.
 
To celebrate Scott’s zest for life and honor his memory and many accomplishments, we created the Funky Monk Fish & Music Fest Fundraiser. Each year we enjoy a fantastic day beginning with an optional afternoon back bay fishing trip, followed by an evening filled with special food, live music, baskets, and more.

Thanks to the generosity of our friends, donors, and sponsors over the last 10 years, this event has raised over $180,000 for the Scott Monk Scholarship Fund. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised at the Funky Monk go toward the Scholarship which provides financial assistance to those individuals pursuing a career in medicine.

Since this is our 9 th and FINAL fundraiser, we want to make it very special. This year’s event will take place Wednesday, Sep 30 at The Cove Restaurant in Brigantine.
We have the fantastic Eddie Testa Band performing for us. In addition to our amazing new venue and band, there will be an optional back bay fishing trip, an incredibly delicious menu, prizes, a 50/50, raffle baskets, etc. We would love to have you join us on this special night.
